Excitement at Montalvo Art Center

Excitement was high at Montalvo Art Center in July, when kids met kittens! Six furry felines visited from the Silicon Valley Animal Control shelter in partnership with our Pet Painter program. The students then took to their paints under the guidance of artist Vandana Pawar (Vandana-Pawar.com) to show their empathy for these adoptive cats. From one of the parents: “It’s a good cause!” And from their teacher: “The kids couldn’t contain their excitement on the day of the kittens’ visit. They were practically vibrating! This happiness and connection is visible in their paintings and was a joy to watch.”
