As we reflect on the compassion, education, and community impact of 2025, we look ahead to 2026 with renewed purpose and hope for all beings.

Report On A Very Good 2025

With your support, Project HumaneKind continued its mission to provide humane education to the community. Established in 2023, in its three years of advocating for animal care, the organization has reached 4,000 students and community members with classroom and afterschool programs that promote awareness of and respect for animals. To amplify this work, Project HumaneKind partnered with many organizations.

A few highlights from the year: the Project visited Montalvo Art Center, and 100 summer campers had fun meeting kittens from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority and learning about animal sheltering. Menlo Park middle schoolers visited Jasper Ridge Farm where they learned about the care of chickens, goats, pigs, and horses. Our thanks to art instructors Summerlynn Burlew, Anna Kogan and Vandana Pawar.

New This Year

  • Speaking of horses, Project HumaneKind introduced an internship in equine behavior and care with our specialist and board member Jennifer Ott Cameron.
  • Also new this year was our Ambassadors of Compassion Story Writing contest for middle school students.

Emergency veterinary funds, contributed by a generous donor, provided a stopgap for animal rescuers who were without local support. Rescue costs are a heavy burden on Good Samaritans! Project HumaneKind was pleased to support the efforts to spay and neuter community cats and to help cute little old-timer Tippy, a neglected dog suffering from tumors who now enjoys health and comfort in a new home. These emergency expenditures of about $5,000 in 2024–25 are a contribution to the wellbeing of animals and a generous support to those who do the hard work of animal rescue.

A sincere thank you to those who have helped with financial and volunteer support.
